Particulate Control
Dry Electrostatic Precipitators
Benefits
- 99.9+% removal capability
- Low pressure drop
- High degree of customization to meet project and customer needs
- Tumbling hammer and gravity impact rapping designs available
- Full Penthouse for ease of maintenance
- Can be combined with Wheelabrator acid gas removal technologies for moderate removal of:
- Acid gases – SO2, SO3, HCl, HF
- Mercury
- Acid gases – SO2, SO3, HCl, HF
- Continued support with training, startup, inspections, replacement parts, and upgrade/rebuilds
With more than 60 years of experience in the design and supply of dry electrostatic precipitators, we offer quality, cost effective solutions and services to meet the most stringent particulate control regulations.
Our Dry ESP technology efficiently cleans gases from industrial and utility processes ranging from 30,000 to 5 million ACFM. Designs include the HaRDE®
Rigid Discharge Electrode with tumbling hammer rapping and the Wheelabrator VIGR™ Rigid Discharge Electrode with magnetic impulse rapping.
Applications
Pulp & Paper (recovery & power boilers)
Steel (ore dryers, furnaces, sinter machines)
Cement (dry kilns, wet kilns, calciners)
Cat Crackers (catalyst separation)
Oil-Fired Boilers
Coal-Fired Boilers
OVER 50GWE OF UTILITY APPLICATIONS
Hundreds of industrial installations across wide range of applications; Rebuild/upgrade/retrofit projects on many different ESP designs retrofit/upgrade applications
HaRDE™ (Hammer Rapped Rigid Discharge Electrode)
Features
- High Intensity tumbling hammer rapping for tenacious dust
- Rigid discharge electrodes for increased performance and enhanced reliability
- Clean roof with no penetrations minimizes air in-leakage and corrosion.
- Full penthouse/insulator encl.
- Designed for wide plate spacing
- Access at top and bottom of fields
- Minimum internal obstructions
VIGR® (Variable Intensity Gravity Rapped)
features
- Variable intensity gravity rapping for optimized plate cleaning
- Rigid discharge electrodes for increased performance and enhanced reliability
- Compact casing with no moving parts in gas stream
- Shop assembled curtains to minimize construction time
- 2 or 4 point high voltage suspension
- Full penthouse/insulator enclosure
- Designed for wide plate spacing
- Access at top and bottom of fields
- Minimum internal obstructions
How it Works
Step 1: Charging
- Gas ions formed by corona discharge
- Particulate charged by gas ions
Step 2: Collection
- Ions transport particles to collect plate
- Particulate charge given to collect plate
Step 3: Cleaning
- Collecting plate rapped for cleaning
Special Features
Rapping Systems
- Tumbling hammer or gravity impact rapping available
- Recommendations can be made to customer based on application
clean roof design
- Unique HaRDE™ clean roof design (no roof penetrations, minimizes leakage/corrosion issues)
- Full penthouse / insulator compartment enclosure
Rigid Discharge Electrode (RDE)
- Virtually unbreakable design – superior to wire-type designs in performance and reliability
- Sharp pointed corona generators with Variable spike length & spacing for specific process/fuel
- Multiple transformer/rectifier and controls options available
- Conventional design with separate free-standing controller
- Three-phase design with separate free-standing controller for improved ESP performance
High-frequency T/Rs
